Visualisation of gene by gene interactions in pharmacogenetics

    • A new multivariate visualisation of gene by gene interactions in pharmacogenetic studies is offered. The simple method is illustrated using a retrospective collection of matched cases and controls in a SNP based candidate gene study of drug induced Stevens-Johnson syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis. Only a few of the multitude of possible gene by gene interactions are flagged as important. These together with independent gene effects indicate a plausible aetiology of the adverse event.
